Strategies Explained

Starseed Automate offers several powerful automation strategies to help you manage your positions effectively. Understanding how each one works, their configuration options, and their primary use cases will allow you to make the most of the platform.

Stop Loss/Take Profit (SL/TP)

The Stop Loss/Take Profit configuration window.

This automation strategy is designed for hands-off position management by automatically closing a position when it reaches a predetermined profit or loss target.

  • How it Works: The bot continuously monitors your position's value and calculates its Profit and Loss (PNL) based on your net invested amount. When either the Take Profit or Stop Loss threshold is met, the bot automatically triggers the closure of the position. It also supports fee claiming and token conversion upon closing.

  • Configuration Options:

    • Take Profit: Set the percentage of gain at which the bot should close the position to lock in profits (e.g., 20%). This takes into account the overall position value (including both liquidity and earned DLMM fees).

    • Stop Loss: Set the percentage of loss at which the bot should close the position to protect against further losses (e.g., 10%).

    • Token Conversion: Choose token handling options upon closure.

  • Use Cases:

    • Protecting your positions against significant losses.

    • Locking in profits at specific, predetermined levels.

    • Enabling hands-off position management for long-term holds.

Auto-Exit

The Auto-Exit configuration window.

This strategy is ideal for range-bound trading, allowing you to automatically close a position immediately when the price moves out of your specified range.

  • How it Works: The bot continuously monitors the active price bin and compares it against your position's upper and lower bin ranges. If the active bin moves outside of your set range, the bot triggers an immediate closure of the position and executes any configured token swaps.

  • Configuration Options:

    • Exit Conditions: Choose to exit when the price goes above the upper range, below the lower range, or both.

    • Token Handling: You can configure the bot to "Convert All to SOL" or "Sell All Fees" when the position is closed. Converting everything to SOL is useful for token sided positions so everything gets sold at the highest price.

  • Use Cases:

    • Exiting positions that move outside of their profitable ranges.

    • Preventing impermanent loss during volatile market conditions.

    • Automating your range management strategy.

ScaleOut

The Auto-Exit configuration window.

Available from the Token Holdings window, ScaleOut is a feature designed to simplify the process of selling tokens for users of all skill levels. The ScaleOut module will automatically select the best pool for you to put your tokens into. The best pool in this case is one with the highest TVL and volume.

  • How it Works: ScaleOut allows any user to make use of a Meteora DLMM to sell off their tokens, regardless of their familiarity with the underlying mechanics of Meteora or DLMMs.

  • Configuration Options: Here you will have three strategies to choose from: Slow & Steady, Medium, and Fast. To learn more about them check out this section Token Holdings + ScaleOut.

  • Use Cases:

    • Onboarding new users to the benefits of LPs by providing a simple interface for selling tokens.

    • Providing an easy-to-use tool for any trader looking to sell off their token holdings without deep knowledge of DLMMs.
